Girl! It’s okay to go to the salon.

Updated: Jan 30, 2019

Soooo... I had this idea that the longer my hair got the easier it would be the manage...🙄. Seriously had a moment of wanting to chop it off! Then it dawned on me...Girl, before you cut it all off, see if one of the girls at the salon can fit you in their schedule. DUH!!! I spent the last 2 years of my natural hair journey doing it myself. I’m so used to doing it that I completely forgot I have the option of getting it done by a professionals at Studio 91 Natural Hair Salon in Baldwin, NY.😉

I’m not sure if I was wearing it as a badge of honor. Like look at me I can do this all by myself!

Can you relate? Have you been frustrated with your hair and forgot that you actually have options??

Detangling and pre shampoo treatment used to hydrate and detangle my hair before the actual shampoo service.

OMG! Why have I deprived myself of this salon treatment for so long! It felt good to have someone else handle my hair for a change. I don’t ever want to go back to doing it myself! Lol

My stylist volunteered me for a moisture treatment that I probably wouldn’t have done myself. Seems like I’m always rushing through the process to get to the end.

At the end I left the salon with my usually chunky twists that I will allow to air dry at home. Hoping they’ll be completely dry by tomorrow so I can unravel them for work.

Moral of this story is it’s okay to take a break from doing your own hair at home if you're burnt out and frustrated. Find a salon and stylist you trust and treat yourself often!

@Angela over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with very talented stylists. I keep them in mind for different things including doing my hair lol! I have also had the pleasure of training some of them as well! But they always say that hairstylists make the worst clients! Lol

How does a super stylist choose another stylist? What is your selection criteria?
